The weekend was marked by bad weather, a factor that impacted the race, since the weather conditions were not the best. The competition Trilhos dos Abutres has always been known for its toughness and it was for precisely this reason that of the 600 athletes who lined up at the start of the 50 km race - long-distance - Ultra Trilhos, only around 300 reached the finish line.
Ricardo Silva from Viana Trail was the mens’ winner, debutant in the race, with 5h07m10, and also Ester Alves representing Salomon Suunto.
The motto of this edition was "YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY" and indeed it was, for both the athletes and the organisation, due to the adverse conditions brought about by the bad weather.
This weekend, Miranda do Corvo received about 6000 visitors, including athletes and spectators.
Besides the long-distance race, this edition also included the 25km - the Trail race and a walk (10km). The event was also marked by a competition on Sunday - for young people from 6 to 16 years old, the Trilhos Júnior - as well as other activities: the Abutrica Fair with a sports goods exhibition, official partners stands, local products exhibitions, an open forumwith themes related to the sport, and a Photography Contest about the event.
