This year the 9th edition of the Mushroom festival Miscaros is taking place between the 17 and 19 November in the village of Alcaide, municipality of Fundão, in the district of Castelo Branco.
During these days, visitors will be able to enjoy mycological walks and marvel at the surrounding nature of the Serra da Gardunha hillside, along with exhibitions, workshops, mushroom shows and entertainment, tasting different ways of preparing mushrooms and other regional specialities.
The Festival is totally ecological, as a contribution towards the sustainability of nature.
Safety will be a primordial aspect of the Míscaros Festival, with the quality control and food safety carried out by a certified external entity, offering guarantees of the quality of the products served at the event.

Sunday, 19 November
- 9am: Mycological walks with the lecturers Anabela Marisa Azul, Sílvia Leão, Norberto Costa and Ricardo Torres Silva. Registrations should be carried out via email to miscarosfestivalinscricoes@gmail.com. The tours are limited to 100 people.
- 10am: Street entertainment throughout the day:

- 2.30pm: Workshop “Aromas and Boletuses” – Workshop on mushroom production on stems, substrates and wild variants – Norberto Costa
- 4pm: Live Cooking “Duelling Pots” - Modern Cooking vs Traditional Cooking
- 5.15pm: Winner of the Best Dish of 2016 “Avó Lé”
- 6.30pm: Best Dish of 2017 competition with the food critic Orlando Esteves
- 8pm: Live Cooking - closing event of the festival with all the chefs and Miguel Gameiro
Throughout the three days of the Festival there will be free babysitting, street theatre, circus arts and street entertainers.
Buses will be provided between Fundão and Alcaide and all trains will stop at Alcaide.
