Born in Germany, Kerstin Thomas settled in Portugal and has lived in the Cerdeira Schist Village, in Lousã, where she has had her own atelier since 1990. Her works in the field of wood sculpture involve various means of working, all having native wood as a medium in common. Any piece or sculpture created by Kerstin Thomas carries a message with multiple readings. The artist participated in the Água Musa trilogy, with the piece "VITTATUM"; L4Craft, in which she worked with Vasco Baltazar on a piece evoking the artisanal preparation of cheese; and Agricultura Lusitana, with the piece "Encosta-te a Mim".
