António Fernandes finds the raw material for his work in nature – tree-trunks and pieces of wood that time has shaped with the marks of its passing. They are chosen for their natural shapes, which might suggest potential figures or objects, and then sculpted into the final piece. Born in Nogueira, Bragança, António Fernandes was part of the Água Musa and Agricultura Lusitana projects, with "Viver o Rio" and "Coleção Natureza", respectively.
