After discovering the typical Beira village of Zaboeira and crossing its typical, narrow streets, the Castelo de Bode artificial lagoon can be discovered - about 60 km long, built during the golden age of the water resources development policy in the 1950s.
Surrounded by pine-covered hills, the reservoir, one of the largest national water reserves, owes its existence to the river Zêzere and offers tranquil boat trips and a range of water sports, as well as popular summer swimming in the floating pool.
The delights of the setting are further complemented by the regional gastronomy provided by the village restaurant. From Zaboeira towards Fernandaires, there are several natural viewpoints with panoramic vistas.
