We need to continue our voyage of discovery, immerse ourselves in the places and deepen our vision of the future that the villages can offer the country. We need to be close to, and know how to look at, ourselves, accepting diversity beyond formats and folklore. We need to build a narrative that affirms this rural, communitarian way of life, close to nature, as an integral part of what Portugal is in the present day. It is in search of this essence that a group of photographers went to the area to capture images that would contribute to a deeper understanding of what is a crucial part of us.
As part of the process of renewing the Aldeias do Xisto brand’s corporate identity, which will be reflected in all its promotional activities, especially the launch of a new website, a team of photographers is in the field to record images portraying the main themes of the Aldeias do Xisto, such as experience and adventure tourism, nature, daily life and community, landscape and culture. The photographers are Adriana Oliveira, Bernardo Conde, Diogo Tavares, Pedro Martins and Tiago Cerveira.
The new challenges on the horizon suggest adjustments need to be made to the Aldeias do Xisto brand’s strategic positioning, with reflections on the style of “voice” and “face” that it will have to assume. This renewal of identity involves deepening and diversifying the imagination, reflected in the adaptation and specialisation of various themes, formats and target audiences.
Photography has a fundamental role in the construction of narrative and crucial to the communication strategy that will allow these objectives to be achieved.
