Framed by the Nossa Senhora da Piedade chapel and the Lousã Castle.
On the São João river, in the heart of the Serra da Lousã, the Senhora da Piedade River Beach is set in a scenario of outstanding natural beauty. Lousã Castle receives visitors by welcoming them at a pleasant spot full of hidden corners offering opportunities for relaxation and peace and quiet.
Shale is a constant presence. Everything around the beach is schist, including the diving board, approximately 1.75 metres high.
There is a shallow natural pool where children can splash about and play safely. It also offers good access for people with reduced mobility.
The beach area has a bar with a terrace offering a fantastic view over the mountains and the Nossa Senhora da Piedade hermitages. The "Burgo" restaurant is located at the top with a panoramic view of the beach.
Changing rooms with showers and bathrooms are also available. During the bathing season, the beach is supervised by a lifeguard and there is a first aid post.
Enjoy a visit to explore Casal Novo, Candal and Cerdeira, all Aldeias do Xisto. You can also explore the Castle of Lousã and take a plunge in the Senhora da Graça River Beach.
