Praia Fluvial de Álvaro

As the river comes into view on the way out of the old town, down towards the beach, a vast expanse of water is revealed in a surrounding panorama of rare beauty.Private and far from the hubbub, this corner of the country offers all the peace and quiet you need for a good rest and contact with nature in its pure state.

In addition to the river banks, the beach has a floating pool, divided in two: an adults’ pool and a children’s pool. The beach also has a playground, picnic area and bar.

The beach offers facilities for sports and leisure activities such as fishing, canoeing, water sports and boating.

Álvaro is also a crossing point of the Grande Rota do Zêzere trail. One of the intermodal stations of the 370 km walking route is located next to the beach.
