Located in the village of Góis, with quick access to the historic centre of the village, the Peneda / Pego Escuro River Beach offers a large grassy area on the banks of the Ceira River, with good facilities. This beach area holds a Blue Flag and a Quercus Gold Medal. It has also been classified as an accessible beach.

Surrounded by an imposing landscape of majestic mountains, the beach is in an area of outstanding natural beauty where there is even a sand island in the middle of the river to provide a picturesque note. This River Beach also has a terrace overlooking the river with a view of the Joanina de Góis bridge.
