Narcissus asturiensis
This is an endemic Iberian plant that occurs in mountainous areas of the northern and central Iberian Peninsula, generally above 800m altitude.
In Portugal, it is only found in the highest parts of the Larouco, Coroa, Montesinho, Nogueira, Alvão, Marão, Estrela and Açor mountains. Serra do Açor thus corresponds to the southern limit of its distribution area in Portugal.
Its conservation status indicates that it is a vulnerable species with limited occurrence.
It occurs in natural meadows, bushes and rocky areas. Flowering occurs during winter and early spring (December to March). It has strong possibilities as an ornamental species.
