Located in the area of Pinhal Interior Sul, the theme of this Ciência Viva Centre could not be other than FLORESTA. Based on the premise that without science there is no culture, the CCVFloresta offers citizens stimuli and resources to incorporate science into their culture and thus enable them to better understand the world in which we live. It has a permanent interactive exhibition that allows us to discover how the Portuguese forest is constituted, its importance from a socio-economic, ecological and environmental point of view, and to learn about the threats to which it is subject and what we can do to protect it. Besides the exhibition area, the CCVFloresta also has a library/media, laboratory/experimental, shop, mini vivarium, bar/planade and outside an Adventure and Science Park. It also has a laboratory where it provides services to the agricultural community of the region, namely wine/must analysis, olive oil and soils.

Throughout the year the Centre promotes a set of actions that lead the school public and the community in general to make the Centre their space. Science "à la carte", Thematic Workshops, Science Coffees, Training Courses, Conferences, Holidays with Science, Birthdays with Science... are examples of activities where knowledge is stimulated and knowledge exchange in an informal environment. The permanent exhibition of the Centro Ciência Viva da Floresta consists of three thematic rooms that show the forest from three different perspectives: as a Source of Well-Being, as a Source of Life and as a Source of Wealth.
