Alvoco das Várzeas Beach, with its crystal clear water and Blue Flag, is surrounded by a picnic park with leafy trees, ensuring a green environment full of freshness. It is located in a valley on the bank of the Alvoco river (which rises in the Serra da Estrela, near to Alvoco da Serra), next to the beautiful medieval bridge (16th Century), with a magnificent view of the Serra da Estrela mountains.

The river area offers wide green spaces and leisure areas, a picnic area with a bar serving small meals and delicious snacks under the abundant shade offered by the large willows.

To get to know and explore the whole area, you can use the Schist Walking Trails of the Aldeias do Xisto.

how to arrive
From Coimbra:
Take the IP3 toward Guarda/Viseu, then the IC6, and exit at Oliveira do Hospital/Guarda (EN130). When you reach Venda de Galizes, turn right toward Ponte das Três Entradas (EN230) and take the left exit toward Alvoco das Várzeas.
From Oliveira do Hospital:
Head toward Penalva do Alva, Santo António do Alva, and Ponte das Três Entradas. Take the N230 toward Alvoco das Várzeas. Once in the village, turn right at the sign indicating the river beach.
