Quinta da Moenda Estate, accommodation located in Alvoco das Várzeas, Borough of Oliveira do Hospital and official partner of Aldeias do Xisto Network, has won the Zoover Award 2014 in Portugal’s “Flats Category”. In addition to this award, the accommodation was also awarded the Green Key.

Quinta da Moenda also wins "The Green Key" out of a total of 52 awarded projects in Portugal. 

"The Green Key" - is an international award for Environmental Education which promotes Sustainable Tourism through the recognition of good practice. 

Emphasising the movement towards ensuring that the Tourism sector acts sustainably, the Green Key award is given in recognition of institutions that demonstrate tangible care for the well-being of the environment.

The "Green Key" is an international ecological certificate for hotels. It originated in Denmark in 1994 and operates in 45 countries. In Portugal, this initiative is coordinated by ABAE (European Blue Flag Association)

Zoover Award 2014

The results are based on online user reviews of the zoover.com website, which gets more than 150 million visits a year.

The Zoover Awards pick the best accommodation in Europe, as well as the best and most popular destinations worldwide.

The award ceremony took place in Amsterdam on 17 April at the headquarters of the Telegraaf, the largest daily newspaper in the Netherlands.
