The 13 schools in the Miranda do Corvo Group of Schools received, on 4 October, the Eco-School Green Flag.
The ceremony took place at the Expocentro in Pombal and recognises the work done in all the county’s schools during the last school year on Environmental Education for Sustainability.
As a result of this distinction, the group of school and the county simultaneously received, the “Eco-School" and “Eco-County" awards. A delegation of 121 people (students and teachers) represented the county of Miranda do Corvo at the "Green Flags Day" event.
It should be noted that Miranda do Corvo was one of the eight district councils to see all their applications approved. Miranda do Corvo was the only council that submitted more than a dozen schools at every level of education (from pre-school to secondary school).
The project encompassed the following establishments: Jardim de Infância de Casais de São Clemente, Jardim de Infância de Espinho, Jardim de Infância de Miranda do Corvo, Jardim de Infância de Vidual, Escola EB1/JI Prof. Dr. Ferrer Correia, Escola Básica de Miranda do Corvo, Escola Básica de Moinhos, Escola Básica de Semide, Escola EB1 Rio de Vide, Escola EB1 Vila Nova, Escola EB1 de Lamas, Escola EB1 de Pereira, and Escola EB2,3/S José Falcão.
