The Aqua Village Health Resort & Spa, located in Caldas de São Paulo, borough of Oliveira do Hospital, was elected world's Best Hot Springs Resort in the Resort category of the Haute Grandeur Global Excellence Awards that took place on 18 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Hotel also won nine other awards. Also in the Resort category, it won the titles of best European retreat resort, best European mountain resort, and most luxurious European suite (a 200 sq metre Presidential Suite).
In the Spa category, the hotel won three awards: best medicinal spa in Europe, best thermal spa in Europe, and best luxury spa in Portugal. Spa Sensations has a hydrodynamic thermal pool and another pool that is heated and half-covered, a sauna, Turkish bath, a contrast shower, and a wide range of massages and treatments. The spa’s thermal spring water plays a leading role in the resort, as it is used in several treatments in the Spa, such as the Vichy Shower, Scottish Shower, and Hydromel.
Recognition also reached the gastronomic component, with the Roots Restaurant & Bar, featuring signature Portuguese cuisine based on regional products, being awarded as best luxury hotel restaurant in Europe, best luxury family restaurant in Europe, and best luxury restaurant bar in Portugal.
Aqua Village is the first five-star Health Resort & Spa for health and wellness in Portugal’s Central Region. The resort has 29 one (T1) and two (T2) bedroom apartments and one suite. Deluxe and Premium apartments have a view over the river and a hydromassage hot tub on the balcony.
