This year,15 Aldeias do Xisto river beaches received the Blue Flag certificate.

After 2017, the number had risen to 12; and in 2018, there is another increase, with the accreditation of the Senhora da Piedade (Lousã) and Coja (Arganil) beaches and the re-accreditation of Louçainha Beach (Penela).

The accredited beaches are the following:

This annual recognition by the European Blue Flag Association attests to the environmental quality of beaches, recreational ports, and marinas, ensuring that criteria such as information and environmental education, water quality, environmental management and equipment, and safety and service provisions are met.

GOLD MEDAL FOR 12 ALDEIAS DO XISTO BEACHES

In 2017, Quercus also commended 12 Aldeias do Xisto River Beaches, two more than in the previous year, with the Gold Medal:
