The 3rd stage of the 80th Bicycle Tour de Portugal, the Etapa Vida (Stage of Life), has become a welfare event even in favour of the communities affected by the previous year’s fires.
On 4 August, the caravan, with the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and Marco Chagas, who is sponsoring the route, will pass through the Aldeias do Xisto.
The cyclists will leave from Alameda da Carvalha, in Sertã, at 12.30pm, heading towards Pedrógão Grande, Figueiró dos Vinhos, Castanheira de Pêra, Lousã, Góis, Arganil and Tábua. The stage ends at 5.30pm, in Rua D. Carlos Campos, in Oliveira do Hospital, after riding for 178 kilometres.
Between 2.30pm and 3.30pm, the cyclists will pass through Lousã, with the finish line next to the Municipal Firefighters Headquarters, on Avenida Dr. José Maria Cardoso.
You can watch the caravan passing by on Estrada Nacional 236, between Castanheira de Pera and Lousã, in Avenida Coelho da Gama, Avenida Dr. José Maria Cardoso, Rua Dr. José Pinto de Aguiar and Vilarinho, following the Estrada Nacional 342 towards Góis.
The next stage links Guarda to Covilhã.
The 80th Tour de Portugal Santander takes place from 1 to 12 August 2018.
