Included in the "Twelve Months, Twelve Walks" program, promoted by the Municipality of Castanheira de Pera, the "Rota da Urze" will take place on March 23, offering a unique experience of immersion in the natural beauty of the Serra da Lousã.
The route, spanning 7km, invites participants to discover breathtaking landscapes and explore the richness of local flora and fauna, with a special focus on the heather, which is in full bloom at this time of year.
This hike provides an opportunity to learn more about the various uses of the plant that gives the activity its name, including the production of heather honey, a characteristic product of the region, as well as the importance of environmental preservation.
The meeting point is at the village of Vilar at 09:00. Registration is mandatory and costs €10 (for participants aged 15 and over). You can register HERE.
