Put down Roots in the Lands

“Put down roots in the Lands” is a theatrical, performative and musical show, in which the actors wander from one street to another showing curious and characteristic aspects of the villages. This initiative, promoted by Histérico - Associação de Artes, passes through several villages, from 11 to 16 August, establishing a dynamic which allows the audience to watch the show from their doorstep.

Root: “This is the original and irreducible element which, from a historical perspective, contains the concentrated semantic element. It is the root that encapsulates the general meaning, which is common to words of the same etymological family.”

Roots connect us to the earth. They bind and tie us to who we are, the way we were created to be. Roots are memories, affections, and feelings. Sometimes we can also put down roots. It is this aspect that we wish to explore and discover through an artistic performance involving on-going interaction with individuals.
