The Traditional Gardens Nucleus - The Coirela of Agostinhas of the Eco-Museu Tradições do Xisto, is a space provided by local inhabitants and will function as an educational vegetable garden. The produce from this will be used to make meals for groups in the village or to make other products, such as homemade jams, which can then be sold.
Because of its educational function, the space allows children and young people to learn about vegetable growing.
The space will be inaugurated by the Mayor of the Municipality of Góis, Maria de Lurdes Castanheira, thus celebrating in advance the International Agriculture Day, which is celebrated on 2 July.
Besides the presence of several local entities, it will count with the presence of a group of children and youngsters from the Góis municipality, who are enrolled in the After school club, and who will accompany this inauguration with a educational incentive at the Agostinhas' Coirela Nucleus.
PROGRAMME:
10:30am - Workshop to build a scarecrow with recyclable products, to be placed in the Centre of Coirela das Agostinhas, prepared by the children of the municipality of Góis enrolled in free time activities
2pm – Inauguration of the Coirela das Agostinhas nucleus By the President of Góis, Maria de Lurdes Castanheira.
