Hélder Bruno will present works of his own, orchestrated for string quartet, soprano and piano. The concert will also feature exclusive photographs by Lieve Tobback that will be projected throughout the concert and the sequence of which was worked out in accordance with each of the works.
Hélder Bruno, on piano, will be accompanied by Jacinto Neves (violin), Miguel Gonçalves (violin), Rogério Monteiro (viola) and Feodor Kolpashnikov (cello) and Carla Bernardino (soprano).
The musician (composer and pianist) has suspended his artistic activity to embrace other projects linked to his academic and scientific activity. He is currently a councillor at the Lousã Town Hall.
For the last ten years, Hélder Bruno Martins has dedicated himself to ethnomusicology. As a researcher at the INETmd and CEJ-UA he has given a number of talks (both nationally and internationally), published articles and books (aimed at both scientific and lay communities) – from which and of note is Jazz em Portugal, 1920-1956 (Almedina, 2006) – he has been a higher educational teacher, entrepreneur, consultant (for the arts and culture sector, tourism, the creative industries and the creative economy).
Despite these incursions, which have kept him away from the stage through his own choosing he has never stopped composing. He is now returning now to present some of his pieces that he has orchestrated for string quartet, soprano and piano. He will be accompanied by the string quartet ConcentusPerTempora- Ensemble, by the voice of Carla Bernardino (soprano) and also with the projection of exclusive photographs by Lieve Tobback.
