On 3rd October, Lousitânea is once again holding an Alambicada at the Alembic and Oven Centre of the Claro Family, in the Aldeia do Xisto of Aigra Velha, which will demonstrate the process of how “bagaceira” is turned into brandy. The programme also includes a workshop on making broa cornbread, using the existing oven in the village. At the end, there will be a cornbread and brandy tasting and, to settle the stomach, a warm soup from the mountains. The event will be accompanied by ethnographic entertainment to the sound of the concertina.
