Proençatur arose from the need to create an adequate structure for the operation of the Hotel das Amoras, which opened to the public in 2003. Besides this unit, it is in charge of the management of the Municipal Cafeteria, operating since 2009 in the Comendador João Martins Urban Park.

Contributing to the promotion of the municipality's natural and cultural heritage, and boosting the local tourism, entertainment and handcrafted products are some of the goals of this municipal company.
