Officina - Objectos Improváveis by Nuno Alves produces handcrafted, utilitarian and decorative objects, applying design processes and methodologies to traditional knowledge and techniques, based on regional references and environmental concerns. The serra da Gardunha mountain range and local culture act as the providers of raw materials and an inspiring source of new products. For the Água Musa project, Nuno Alves created the piece "Raiz” (“Root”). For the L4Craft project he teamed up with Casa das Tecedeiras to create a collection of playful objects, which combines chestnut wood from Serra da Gardunha with the ancestral art of weaving. The set of three chestnut wood benches inspired by the traditional benches used in rural areas to sit by the fire on the coldest winter nights, entitled “Árvore” (“Tree”), marks the artist's contribution to the Agricultura Lusitana exhibition.
